First Flight Experience

Discovery Flight

A discovery flight introduces you to TFA Flight Academy, the training aircraft, the instructor briefing process, and the experience of flying over the Daytona Beach area.

What to expect

Your instructor will review basic safety items, aircraft familiarization, what happens during the flight, and how flight training is normally structured. The goal is to give you a realistic first look at pilot training without requiring a long-term commitment.

Before arrival

Bring a government-issued photo ID. Students should also bring proof of citizenship when required, such as a valid passport or birth certificate. Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes suitable for the ramp.

After the flight

Staff can explain the Private Pilot Certificate path, expected documents, scheduling options, ground training, and how to begin lessons if you decide to continue.

Bring with you

  • Government-issued photo ID
  • Passport or birth certificate when required
  • Sunglasses if preferred
  • Questions about training, schedule, and cost planning

Best fit for

  • First-time flyers considering pilot training
  • Parents or family members learning about the process
  • Future students comparing flight schools
  • Returning pilots who want to meet the school before scheduling training
